A review on the 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman by Timothy Ferriss
When I read a new book that has 1 or two helpful bits of information, I count my time as well spent.
Tim's book has numerous helpful bits. If I'd had it obtainable a few years ago, I could be much farther along today. For instance, I recently found out about the problems created by high ferritin levels, and am having a series of phlebotomy treatments to get mine back to a good range. This information is obtainable from other sources, but is far from an "everybody knows it" paradigm.
Tim has done a great job of pulling info together and making it accessible in an easy-to-use, easy-to-integrate-with-your-life manner. He's also added info from his own self-experiments that I haven't seen anywhere else.
From Tim's book, I got exercise ideas for how you can get stronger and reduce the chance of injury without investing lots of time, ideas for how you can maintain my blood glucose peaks lower, ideas for learning to run much more successfully, and much more. I'm still going via the book to determine just how much of it I want to implement and on what schedule, and am finding it to be a fantastic resource.
Tim's book is also enjoyable to read and it also available in audio book format. I wouldn't dream of doing a few of the issues he's carried out, but they make a good story. It would be worth the price just for the entertainment.
Regarding the unfavorable critical reviews, what concerns is what's not used to you, and I need to assume that Tim includes so a lot, in an available method, that nearly anyone will get good value from it.
